Tim Turk surrounded by the Defense!

Tim Turk likes to do drills too! Amongst the "D" having fun, serious fun. Leading by example is a great way for coaches to get thier point across.
I always look forward to working with the Mississauga Chiefs! They work very hard and still want to become better!
AWESOME!!! See you soon girls!

Tim Turk with some Chiefs!

Tim Turk with Katherine Lordon(left) and Michelle Atkinson who both play with the Mississauga Chiefs Midget Team. Take time to pose for a picture prior to a hard, high tempo practise focusing on driving the net and taking advantage of rebounds.
These drills help players to understand the importance of 2nd and 3rd chance opportunities!
Just like we do in the NHL!

Tim Turk Demands Downward Pressure when Shooting any shot!

Tim Turk says "Look at that power arm"! Now that is how to get power! A locked power arm pushing down creating a low kick point.
Hips are square to his target allowing for better reaction.

Great Job!!! See you in the summer Mr. Skinner

Tim Turk has high expectations!

Very nice form!
This is what we look for at the NHL level!
A great foundation... (2 feet on the ice) allows for better reaction time.
Eyes on the target...allows for better accuracy.
Puck located right beside the body...allows for a quicker release.

TimTurk in Prince George British Columbia!!

Tim Turk,Skills coach with the NHL's Montreal Canadiens was in Prince George last week. Here during a session Tim is explaining that your "stick" is one of the top 3 main pieces of equipment used to play the game.
REMEMBER! your stick is for shooting, passing and puck control...NOT balance!

Looking forward to returning to B.C. in a few weeks!!!

Tim Turk Helps out another focused hockey player!

Tim Turk met Korbyn Chabot in Prince George BC while doing a skills clinic for the Selects!

Great job with downward pressure and locking the power arm in your release! not to mention a nice high grip hand pulling away from his body. Excellent!

Korbyn Chabot is 10 years old and was born November 13, 1999. He started skating when he was 3 years old and started organized hockey when he was 4. Korbyn's favorite team is the San Jose Sharks and his favorite player is Dany Heatley. Korbyn always wears jersey #9 and one day would like to be drafted to the NHL and win the Stanley Cup. His biggest dream would be to play for team Canada in either the World Junior Championships or the Olympics. This picture was taken while playing for the Cougars Selects in the Winnipeg North American Hockey Challenge in June 2009.

Repetition builds Consistancy!

P.K. Subban and I have been working together on shooting while locating your target.
He is currently the "Top rookie defenseman" in the AHL!
Keep up the great work Suby!

Looking at your target!

After woking in Hamilton of the AHL,focusing on the request from the coaches for more low, accurate and quicker releases. Just look at how dedicated these players are.
This is Yannick Weber finding a target, he was just called up to Montreal! Great job Webby!
See you next week.
